St. Joseph's School, North Point, Darjeeling Welcome to "SursumCorda", The official website of, St. Joseph's College, School Department,North Point, Darjeeling. North Point, as this landmark school is commonly known, is an all-boys boarding and day school run by Jesuit fathers, and "Sursum Corda" (Latin for "Lift Up Your Hearts") is our motto. Established in 1888, North Point has a long and proud history and this website aims to provide a forum for Parents, Alumni and the Students of the School. The site will also, we hope, be informative to anyone who is interested in North Point.

Founders of North Point

Fr. Henri Depelchin born on January 28, 1822 in the village of Rousseignies in the province of Hainaut in Belgium, joined the Jesuit Novitiate on September 25th 1842 at Tronchiennes in Belgium. After his ordination to the priesthood, he pronounced his final vows as a Jesuit on 12th October, 1859.
